A rally heart-warming story, that'll surely put you in the holiday spirit!
This is one of the cutest Christmas stories I've ever read. It had so much heart & soul. This is a story is all about the importance of family and friends, keeping your promises, and following through on your dreams. I loved the characters. They were all so believable and so, so sweet. Little Max just stole my heart right from the very beginning. Then along comes little Thomas and my heart melted all over again.Nick was like the prince every little girl always dreams of, or at least he was after he finally woke up and figured out that the most important things in life is not working yourself to death, but sitting back and enjoying the love of family and friends.I loved, loved, loved Abbey. I loved the way she took care of her Gramps & Caroline. I also liked the way she protected her son Max. And her mother was just as sweet, too. The way she embraced the holiday season, brought back a lot of fond memories for me growing up in a big, but rather poor family. As far as I'm concerned, those days of making homemade ornaments and gifts were some of the best holidays I've ever experienced. This story was so well written that it made the story flow so effortlessly, and I loved the whole plot line, too.I would highly recommend this book to everyone!

Fun,heartwarming, clean Christmas romance!
This was a great Christmas story, romantic and clean and delightful. I absolutely loved it. This read was all about what Christmas and family mean! The characters: strong, realistic, likable. There were no grinch like characters, definitely no one that everyone loves to hate. Nick's biggest drawback was being such a successful businessman dedicated to his work, his company and making money, to the exclusion of a private and passionate life. Abbey was passionate about life. She loved her family more than anything and she cared about the people in her life. She was a hard worker, but not at the expense of her loved ones if she had any control over situations. The setting: Christmastime. Hale did an excellent job of describing the mansion and the grounds of the Sinclair property. Comparing Abbey's apartment and life to that of the Sinclairs provided a stark contrast. The plot: flowed smoothly from start to finish and made for an interesting journey as our main characters, Nick and Abbey, realized their mutual attraction and the importance of sharing their lives and dreams. The conflict: two totally different worlds and priorities collide. Can they somehow be turned into one life, redefined with compromise and reordered priorities? The resolution: Let's say, just what the reader wanted! One of the best Christmas romance reads ever!

Arrested development and AI love?
Full disclosure, I saw the Hallmark movie and enjoyed it so wanted to keep the warm fuzzies going by picking up the book.I am now baffled at the magic writers did to take this meh book into a cute movie. My first issue is the MC seems to be suffering from a case of arrested development. She talks and acts like a teenage girl. Even though she is a working single mother. It was hard for me to identify with her wide eyed blinking Mary Sue thing and generally I thought this gal needed some good therapy and self-improvement more than a romance. When this Mary Sue improbably gets selected to decorate a billionaire's home, it veers far into wish fulfillment territory. It just reads like a story written expressly for women who sit around dreaming about a billionaire rescuing them from their lives and throwing money at them inexplicably. Only this was not done in a believable way or with a strong sensibility about how real life wealthy people act, so it came off as ridiculous. The hero billionaire is so two dimensional...and a little robotic. I was wondering if she was setting him up to reveal he was AI...or maybe neuro-atypical. Which would have made more sense and made me like this book a whole lot more. His empty house, collection of cars, single minded attention to work...again, it was written like a bad caricature of "rich guy". And also what led me to be utterly confused by this character. Once again, a good session of therapy or regular exercise and better eating habits might have been more helpful to this character than being distracted by a teenager stuck in a young woman's body. What's left is two strange two dimensional characters who do the "will they won't they" dance for most of the book.

Feeling Good at Christmas with Abbey and Nick
Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses by Jenny Hale -- This is such a delightful and very well written story that has you feeling good about the characters throughout the story. I do have to say that some parts are a tad unbelievable if you consider the processes needed to perform some of the tasks that Abbey must do. But, this is the never-never-land of fiction where anything is possible. Having said that, this is the best "feel good" story that I have read this Christmas season. Ms. Hale gives vivid descriptions of the setting and the characters. The story draws you in from the beginning and keeps you wanting to continue reading to find out more interesting tidbits. I highly recommend it! I hope to read more such stories from Ms. Hale. It is a clean read (no sex) but I would not describe it as Christian/Faith/Spiritual. It is just a happy story. (I am grateful for the Audible version also.) Happy reading!

A feel-good festive story!
Meet Abbey. A wannabe interior decorator that has too much on her plate to pursue her dream; she has a young son, a mother on crutches and a granddad suffering with Parkinson ’s disease. However, when an opportunity to redecorate a massive mansion presents itself, Abbey can’t turn down the job. Little does she know that this job will change her life forever. In a well known rags-to-riches Cinderella type tale, Jenny Hale whisks you into a frenzy with her wonderful new Christmas story. Hale executes the character of Abbey so perfectly that you instantly feel empathetic towards her and her situation. Strangely, you do not feel sorry for her because you feel that she (yes, Abbey, the fictional character) would not like that. Essentially, what Hale manages to do with her characters is make them so lifelike that you start to believe that they are real. The story is a lovely tale to read and the burgeoning love story between Abbey and Nick is brilliant to watch develop. Frustratingly, whilst romance blossoms all through the book we have an ending that leaves us wanting more. Hopefully Jenny Hale will grace us with maybe stories of other characters in the novel that will allow us to return to Abbey and Nick and let us know how things are getting on for them. I’d like that. This is a book that ticks all the right boxes for a Christmas story. It has love, festive cheer and gives you a good dose of the warm and fuzzies.Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses by Jenny Hale.Follow Jenny Hale (@jhaleauthor) on Twitter.
