Meaty Sound; replaces sub-woofer for me.
****************** UPDATE May 2015 ********************* 2 years and still running fine. I enjoy the set up so much, I wanted to write an update to commend these speakers. Reading the 1star review for this really makes me feel so sad for humanity. People who are rating 1 or 2 stars for this are pretty much just revealing to everyone how ignorant they are. That being said, ignore those reviews, and notice how it weighs on 5 star reviews. Using these mid woofers in the rear with full range in the front makes for a very enjoyable listening experience. Using only stock (full range) speakers; the sound stage feels like a narrow strip of flat sound coming from my dash area (chest area and above). Using these in the rear, it makes it like my entire car cabin is the sound stage, and increases depth of sound stage (from the floor of the car). They have an interesting sound character and make music very enjoyable to listen to and physically feel. Since there's more energy in the low/ mid range, the overall sound is more textured, and the vibrations you can feel are in the range of sound that have more musical significance than what you feel with low blasting sub woofer. (Comparing to a protege5 oem stereo : the audio sounds textually very flat, and the stock subwoofer is just so boomy. Very V shaped. Makes me think of a glossy magazine cover, vs. shoe box diorama. The sound has a high wattage glossyness to it, but it's not stimulating to my ears. The top is just harsh, and the sub woofer isn't providing any musically significant sound.) Well, probably any brand mid-bass woofer will be enjoyable (I don't know since these are my first mid woofers), but these were the cheapest so I went with these. The audio enjoyment you will get from adding these to full range speakers will be much greater than the cost of these speakers, and having that surplus increases the enjoyment even more. :) ********************************************************************************************* I am using these for my rears in my 95 Accord LX with Dual XDM6400 stereo. My fronts are Pioneer TS-G1643R. (Accord specific comments: My stock rear speakers are 5.25", I think; and it fits into a weird 6x9 looking adapter, that bolts in with 3 bolts; kind of weird. Anyway, to get these in; I had to drill some holes into said adapter, and pick up some small nuts and bolts to attach the speakers to the adapter. The Accord stock wiring clip can come apart somewhat; so that you can take the wiring out of the clip, and slide it onto the speaker leads.) I enjoy sound with a subwoofer; but I don't like the idea of lugging around 20-40lbs of junk in my trunk, plus the wear on my car battery and rear suspension, and loss in handling. For me, these mid range speakers sort of replace a subwoofer; in that they give me punch in the lower range, and that they give me piece of mind that I have something a bit more powerful, and more specific range than regular speakers in my rears. They however, do not have the lower extended range that subwoofers have, and are not an all out replacement for a subwoofer. I am pleasantly surprised how meaty these speakers make my music. Personally, in my car, I listen to electronic, rock, jazz, pop, jpop. Certain genres seem to make more sense now; especially Rock for some reason, or songs w/ rock instrumentals. Electronic music sounds great too. Since they are "mid-bass" woofers, I was sort of expecting as if you push up the mids in your eq - it might sound muffled, fuzzy and not very appealing. But that is not so! (well, maybe by themselves they sort of sound like that, but I'm using them with my Pioneer fronts covering the top). These speakers don't sound like they push up your eq mids, but more like they add more physical impact/resonance to your mid/lower range, giving your sound a bit more depth and texture. I would describe it like running your hands over a cobble stoned street; if that makes sense; kind of lumpy, and hard, and smooth, and dense, and textured. I do have some distortion when the volume is turned up; but I believe it has to do more with my head unit than the speakers. I am just using them with my Dual head unit, on stock wires, and they are good enough for me. I imagine they will be more robust sounding if you are using and amp and with crossovers. For $11-13 each; I think these speakers are pretty great value for sound, if you have another pair that is already covering your highs. They make music more enjoyable by adding some depth, punch, and texture to the sound.

Bargain - Brillaint sound + Build quality - really enhanced my 2000 Camaro Premium System
The original speakers inside all "Premium AC Delco Monsoon" systems fall apart. They are dreadful and have a 2 ohm tweeter and 4ohm woofer and no one makes these speakers and OEM ones are junk. I originally put 4 Kappa Infinity 2ohm speakers in my car ( 2 in the doors and 2 in the rear seat area ).... the ones in the door are still good. The ones in the rear seat fell apart, well the "tistable tweeter" fell off one speaker. So I came up with an idea. I cut some holes in the plastic and decided I would put some WOOFERS of decent quality in the place where the 6.5" speakers belong. Then i would reroute the 2ohm tweeter cable, to a small hole at the side of the rear bench seat in the car. The Pyle Mid Range woofers are now in the back of my car and have been for nearly a month. I am feeling the bass, hearing sounds i never heard before and I just can not fault these speakers. They fitted straight in place and although I have heard better sounding speakers by BOSE.... at a premium price in the hundreds of dollars.... these Pyle speakers sound almost as good, but with the mods i made to my speaker arrangement, I think the combination sound better than BOSE :) So I truly highly heavily recommend these speakers. Remember to order 2 if you want 2 of them. These are AWESOME speakers. I plan on getting another Camaro or Firebird in the coming few months and when I do, I will be transplanting these speakers straight to my newer 2002 CAMARO when I get it... I just can not say anything bad about these woofers. If your looking for speakers under $200..... get these, you will not be disappointed, they just sound and look and feel amazing, strong, bassy, boom boom bang bang without the flurry fart sounds ! :) ( Sorry, can not think of another sound that described the farty noises I got from the AC Delco garbage that was in my car before hehe ). Good luck, happy shopping, Amazon are FAST and wonderful as ever.. and these Pyle speaker are no exception :) Very very happy customer.

Can't beat the price!
I used these to replace an old set of Infinity Kappa Component mid-bass drivers, so they are running through the old Kappa component crossovers. They are running from the headunit's 12db 100Hz high-pass filter and through an external amp . Now onto the review: So I had one of my original Kappa mid-drivers go bad....being an audiophile, a bad driver is one of the most annoying things in the world! One the thing that I did not like about my old Kappas was that they could not handle that much power. I went searching for an exact replacement 20 year old Kappa mid-driver that was in decent shape....eventually gave up and decided on trying to find something else that would work. Enter these very inexpensive speakers... Everything was expensive and not even close to the same as the original Kappas. My current audio budget is reflective of my status as a parent. I had a much larger budget in my pre-child days. These new speakers were a compromise and for the price, I decided to take a chance on them. The Good: They love power, better than the old Kappas. They are incredibly inexpensive! They just work (unlike my old Kappas). The Not-So-Good: They do the upper bass frequencies well, if not great! But, the mid range is a little muted/muddied. I could probably compensate for it with EQ settings, but I haven't tried yet. Overall, if you are looking for a cheap replacement component mid-bass driver or a tiny woofer, give these a try. They surprised me!

Sounds good
Replaced my OEM subwoofer in my 2005 jeep Wrangler under the center console. It sounds perfect. No aftermarket amp needed. You may need to modify the actual sub box just a tiny bit but it will bolt up to the OEM mounts and works wonderfully sounda clear look good while doing it

Literal garbage for Klipsch ProMedia Subwoofer replacement
Bought it to replace a blown sub in the ProMedia 2.1. Originally chose this first because a guy on youtube used it and it was super cheap. I figured for 20 bucks or so, it was worth a shot. Hooked it all up in the cabinet. Bass was underwhelming. I hoped it would break in and sound better. Over a few days, it loosened up some and it definitely improved. But that didnt last long. After about a week, it died. I dont think i fried the voice coil since the cone moves freely still, but it's dead. It's probably a loose wire or something, but it sounded like garbage and wasnt worth investigating and subsequently fixing. Terrible build quality for sure. This and a crappy pyle 2ch amp died on me in under a week. You'll never fool me again, Pyle. I never trusted Pyle stuff before but i stupidly tried it out anyway. Save your money. They have some serious quality control problems. For anyone curious about what i replaced the Klipsch factory sub with, i went with the Skar 6.5 2ohm dvc sub and it's probably better than the factory one.

Decent sound, bad fit
This did not fit the rear door speaker mount for a 2003 Tundra without significant modification. I had to enlarge the hole for the speaker to fit into. I had to flatten the locator pins on the plastic molded OEM speaker mount. I had to enlarge the screw holes on the speaker itself because they were located on a slightly smaller radius than the screw holes in the OEM mount. Yes, you read that correctly, this speaker was both too small and too large. This is almost completely a function of the fact that it has a molded plastic frame and is therefore thicker than the metal frame on the OEM speakers thus forcing the frame to be too big and the holes to be located further away from the outside surface of the speaker. I finally got it to fit in. And then, when I tightened the screws (just enough to eliminate any gaps and create a seal between the speaker and the mount), the plastic frame cracked. Can't return them, but the good news is the speakers work anyway. They add a bit of warmth and mid-bass to the sound. They are rated for 60 Hz and this is enough to reproduce the drums and bass on a typical rock and roll tune. Any electronic bass (think Hip Hop etc.) will not sound right. Fortunately, that is not what I listen to. So I give it a 4 for sound and a 2 for installability. It's a 3 at best. We'll see how long they last.

Awesome speakers!
Before anything else, these woofers are sold per piece so you have to buy two of these. Secondly, this didn't fit in the rear deck of my 2008 Honda Civic LX sedan so what I did was I installed it with a pair of car speaker adapters under the rear deck and not on top of it which is usually done in normal situations. Amazon should fix its compatibility list since it said that it would fit my car. Anyway, I paired these with my pair of MTX TN653s (front door) and tested it using my CD collection with plenty of bass applications. I was surprised on how it performed using only my stock head unit with no amp. It put out a solid bass sound in its lowest frequency. The combination was perfect. I know that an amp will maximize its potential but for now I'm very happy with the results. The speakers were fairly priced with super fast delivery but sadly, after I received it and installed it in my car I saw the same speakers in another website that was cheaper by $5 each! I am still hoping that Amazon could do something about this. By the way, sometimes I hear crackling sounds when it plays music with somewhat loud mid-bass applications. I'm still testing the speakers using different genres and doing some observations. I'm also listening to those crackling sounds if it's coming from the rear deck cover itself. It's only a month old and it's within its warranty period so I'm still safe in case there's something wrong with these speakers.

Perfect fit with good sound
These are good speakers they fit perfectly in my doors of my Nissan cube 2011. I cannot wait to hook up a Florjan amp on them currently they are hooked up to the factory stereo they sell wonderfully.
