This is the luxury edition of the classic survival guidebook, and it shows in glossy print, photographic illustrations, and the fun camo-coloured cover made out of genuine cloth. The text has been modernized to a degree to reflect some present day technology, but the gist is still the same and concentrated on wilderness survival with minimal equipment. The old drawing illustrations are still there, and they help to drive many of the concepts in. This is definitely not a book you want to pack to your backpack when going camping - it's quite large and heavy ,more of a coffee table book version of the survival guide, but as such, it is very affordable, so it ought to make good reading at home, or a very fun gift for anyone interested in survival techniques and the outdoors life in general. If you're looking for something more practical, you should look at the other versions of this book, one of which is pocket-sized to begin with! Great fun.
