Review: A must for fermenters - A good read Review: Very easy to read and follow with a wealth of recipes and ideas to try, a gem of a book. - This is a lovely book. I've been interested in fermentation whilst researching healthy gut bacteria. The shop products are limited and expensive so I thought I would give this a try to make my own kimchi and sauerkraut. The first couple of chapters are a must read, the author explains the different types of fermenting and the equipment you will need which is surprisingly little. I have enough storage jars at home so haven't had to buy anything. Having read the first part the second is a wonderful selection of different fermented foods and drinks to try and make, even gingerale which is brewing in my kitchen and literally took 5 mind to start. Its a clever, well written, knowledgeable and great value book. Way surpassing my expectations of what I can be fermenting or how interested I am to try the rest of the recipes. Excellent!

Good for beginners and seasoned fermenters
Fermented food is essential for gut health and therefore general health. My fridge is full of fermented foodstuffs. Iโve been making fermented foods for years and particularly bought this book for the kimchi and the pickled wild garlic recipes. Itโs missing some basics like pickled red onion (delicious) for instance. The pictures are nice and, the book covers the basics as well as a few interesting tips. This is a nice book to introduce someone to home fermenting. Top tip - buy some decent jars for fermenting in. Wide mouth ones are best.

WOW, BEST book on Fermentation
i bought this book since 2020 but never read it. i picked it up in 2021 and could hardly drop it. took highlighters to colour relevant parts and ended but colouring almost the entire Book ( the parts before the recipes). This ladies knows her stuff and her no nonsense straight to the point approach to writing makes this a very resourceful books. all the questions i have about fermentation was answered. i have been fermenting for a while on and off from watching videos on YouTube however she gave me the confidence to try out many recipes, use various jars i didn't know was possible to use. she explained the difference between fermenting and canning. differences between Veg/fruit probiotics versus the capsules. she even explained how to eat fermented food, how to store after making large batches.. which was a problem for me at the earlier stage of fermenting. This is definitely a good book to have for people who are interested in taking their health seriously

A really useful book
For anyone venturing into the world of fermented foods, this is a great book. Itโs really clear and easy to follow the recipes for different krauts and kimchis as well as kefirs and other fermentations. And itโs a beautiful book to look at and to have. Iโve already made 3 of the recipes in the book and all have been successful.

Brilliant Purchase
This is the first book I have bought for fermenting foods and I doubt if I shall buy another one as it is excellent! It covers all the areas I needed it to cover with more besides. I have tried most of the recipes and they have all worked out exactly as I had hoped for. Now that I am feeling a little more confident, I have begun experimenting a bit with breads and cheeses, and this book has given me the resources to do that. I am a very happy fermenter!
